Package Overview
Batam Island is an island of Indonesia located just a 45 minutes ferry ride from Singapore, making it a choice destination for both Singapore locals and tourists looking for a day trip out of Singapore. It is well known as a free trade zone area, so be prepared to shop till you drop!
Day 1 : Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple
Upon your arrival at Batam Island, you will be greeted by your tour guide to start the Batam tour after immigration clearance. Located near the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal is the famous Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple that you will visit. Although there are several other Buddhist and Hindu temples around the island, this temple in particular is Batam's most popular major attraction. The Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple is one of the biggest Buddhist temples in South East Asia, drawing large crowds of worshippers and tourists everyday.
Day 2 : Vihara Buddhi Bakti Temple (Tua Pek Kong Bio)
Another famous temple on Batam Island is the Vihara Buddhi Bakti Temple (Tua Pek Kong Bio) in Nagoya City. This temple has a typical Chinese temple look, with dragon motifs, pagoda roofs, green tiles and red lanterns. The walls of the garden around the temple are beautifully painted with scenes from ancient folklore. Statues of famous legendary figures further contribute to the mythical atmosphere.
Day 3 : Indonesia Miniature Park
You will also visit the Indonesia Miniature Park (only for HIstory and Cultural tour package) to marvel at a display of traditional minuature houses, each representing the unique culture and architecture of one of Indonesia's 33 provinces. The park cludes several attractions (optional admission tickets will be charged separately) such as the orchid garden, a bird park with a walk-in aviary and a fauna museum.
Day 4 : local Indonesian Restaurant
Lunch will be served at a local Indonesian restaurant situated over the sea which serves a variety of local dishes. Feast on delicious local food that would otherwise cost you a hand and a leg in Singapore's famous restaurants. Vegetarian menu available upon request.
Day 5 : Batam Chocolate House
Next on the tourist list is the Batam Chocolate house, a haven for chocoholics to indulge in a delightful mouthwatering experience. Savour the lush palatable selection of more than 100 chocolate brands to gratify all of your dainty taste buds. Buy the local specialty chocolates and stay away from international brands as the latter are imported from Singapore and hence carry higher price tags.
